The Message of Fatima Still Applies Today

Updated: Mar 20, 2022

During the year 2000, I waned to make a pilgrimage to Fatima, Lourdes, and Rome. I wanted to go on a pilgrimage since a Jubilee year does not happen so often. When I was on my pilgrimage, I had heard that they happen every 25 years.

They were all beautiful places to visit.

On the first night I was at Fatima, people were singing Ave Maria. It was so beautiful. Our group joined the procession. We were praying the rosary and singing Ave Maria. I still have the candle from Fatima from that time.

Today, I watched the movie Fatima. By watching the movie, I felt what the children were most likely feeling. It was wonderful to see how brave Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta were even though there were repeatedly questioned by local priest and arrested by the administrator of their town. I felt the movie was a good depiction of how people at the time would have responded to children seeing an apparition. Month by month, the crowds of people grew more and more.

How amazing it would have been to see the Miracle of the Sun.

The message of Fatima still applies today. The message is to pray the rosary every day. We must pray and ask forgiveness of our sins and pray for the conversion of sinners.
